What it does

Ask
Answers and analysis about your code. It can still propose actions, but every write and command waits for your explicit approval.

Plan
Read-only tools only. Plan mode cannot edit files or run commands; you get a structured proposal before anything changes.

Build
Edits files, runs tests and verifies the result, working file by file while the run stays visible.
